The poems collected here chronicle the malaise of modern life against a backdrop of social media trolls and successive Tory governments crumbling into one another.
Stacker works graveyards at the Megamarket on the edge of town. Disillusioned and disenfranchised by the modern age, he nullifies his perpetual existential crisis with a menu of drink and drugs and misbehaviour. A chance meeting leads him into the orbit of Colby Stein, the charismatic leader of a group who call themselves the Consequence Men. Stein's philosophy is that the fear of consequence stops people acting in an authentic way. As the spiral of nihilism and violence escalates, Stacker comes to realise that from some consequences there is no escape.
